“We will not be silent”

“IF YOU ARE NEUTRAL IN SITUATIONS OF INJUSTICE ,YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE SIDE OF OPPRESSOR” ~Desmond Tutu

Oppression is the inequitable use of authority, law, or physical force to prevent others from being free. Globally, oppression is a common issue, and a threat to humanity. People were also historically subject to oppression and unfortunately it still exist today. If we look in our surroundings , we find many people being oppressed in the name of gender equality or equal opportunities. And there are many intended victims of oppression.

Many women around the world still face oppression. Women are ill treated be their husbands. People are also oppressed in the name of racism. People with disfavored race are rejected and they are not considered as a part of the society. Their basic human rights are violated. In spite of many movements initiated by central government, psychology of people hasn’t changed.

“Freedom from oppression is also a human right, but our world faces a persistent gap in access to opportunities and decision making power of innocent people.”

Society is dominated or controlled by small percentage of rich people . The poor struggle a lot to earn the basic standard of living. Amidst all this people need to ealise that the best socieatl system has been potayed by Islam.

Islamic societal system is based upon the fact that human beings are all created from Adam and eve. Hence no one is superior to other. And everyone has a claim to equality and social justice. This believe would stop rulers fom oppressing the citizens, Brahmins from oppressing Dalits, the whites from oppressing the blacks and the rich from oppressing poor.

According to HG Wells, “The Islamic teachings have left great traditions for equitable and gentle dealings and behavior, and inspire people with nobility and tolerance. These are human teachings of the highest order and at the same time practicable. These teachings brought into existence a society in which hardheartedness and collective oppression and injustice were the least as compared with all other societies preceding it. Islam is replete with gentleness, courtesy, and fraternity.”
