Long ago…
There was a poor family of two sons and a mother. They lived in a village. One son was very good mannered but he was weak at studies. The other one was poor at manners and very good at his studies. He used to top his class. He was an intelligent boy. Everyday after returning from school, both of them used to play at the playground far from their house.
One fine day, the boy with good manners saw an old man whose house was close by. The old man was very weak; he used to live alone and was unable to do his household work. When the boy noticed this, he ran from the playground to the old man’s residence and started to help him. He did all the household work and cooked the food for the old man. He visited regularly. Everyday both of them went to the playground and one of them used to play while the other used to go to the old man’s house. The other one used to ignore the old man.
The old man’s neighbor used to observe good boy’s services daily. The same thing continued till they grew older. After Graduation when both of them were searching for a job. Unfortunately both of them had applied in the same company. Two of them attended the interview. when the boy went for the interview ,who was good at his manners . Unknowingly the Interviewer was the neighbor of the old man. He recognized the boy and offered him the job. The other one was shocked because he was more intelligent and was expecting the job, he did not get. Instead, his brother got the job. With shock and jealous boy asked his brother the good one that how did you get a job???? Whereas I was so intelligent. What is the reason behind???
The good boy smiled to himself as he concluded: “That’s a secret”.
“Always do good never think of reward. Allah will reward you with more than you expect!”
